What to expect
During this workshop, you will learn how to draw and design fairies and elves in easy to follow steps. Depending on your skill level, you can decide to follow the steps and copy or even trace the example images, or attempt to design your own characters with some help and tips by Nanda van Dijk.
You will be able to take home the examples to continue to practice drawing at home.
This workshop will be at the Creative Life convention in Utrecht. The tickers for Creative Life are not included in the workshop price.
Fairies and Elves
A Fairy, or also known as Fay, Fae, Fey, Fair folk, or Faerie, is a type of mythical being found in the folklore and fairy tales in European cultures. One of my favorite fairy characters is 'Tinkerbell' from the Disney movie, 'Peter Pan'.
Elves are supernatural humanoid characters who originate from North Germanic mythology. But most people know elves from the stories by Tolkien, of course. 'The Lord of the Rings' books later inspired many others to create stories with these beautiful and magical characters.

From absolute beginners to skillful artists. If you find drawing difficult, you can even trace the examples. The important thing is to have fun!

You don't have to bring anything. Art supplies are available during this workshop.

The workshop is in Dutch, but I can help in English as well. But most of the convention will be in Dutch as well.

On Friday 20 October, Saterday 21 October and Sunday 22 October. There will be three time slots. At 10:30, 13:00, and at 15:00. Full is full, so sign up soon to guarantee your spot!

Hi, my name is Nanda van Dijk and I would be honored to help you strengthen your drawing skills!
I started drawing when I was a little kid, and I now work as a freelance illustrator and animator for commercials and feature films. Please visit the portfolio tap to see some of my animation and storyboard work.
Drawing fantasy characters is something I've always loved to do. Ever since I was a kid, I was creating magical characters. Now I often make fantasy illustrations inspired by the games 'Dungeons and Dragons' and 'Magic the Gathering' and I print these illustrations on Alter Sleeves. These are sleeves for Magic the Gathering cards to transform the artwork of the cards.
The past two years, I've also worked at the Sint Joost school of Art as an Animation and Illustration teacher. I have helped many students elevate their drawing skills, and I am confident that I can teach you a couple of tricks as well!
